Know Before You Go

Commencement is right around the corner! As family and friends of Linfield graduates prepare to make the trip to the Linfield University McMinnville Campus, here are some things you should know ahead of the big day.

Getting here

Find driving directions from Portland, Salem and Eugene. Leave plenty of extra travel time as traffic may be heavy during the Memorial weekend and you may need to look for parking. The Commencement Ceremony will take place on our Commencement Green in the Oak Grove, located between Riley Hall and the President's house. Refer to our campus map if you need help finding it.

Parking and shuttle information

Parking on campus is free during Commencement and you do not need a permit. Leave enough time to find a spot and make it to the Commencement Green. View a map of traffic and parking changes on campus during Commencement.

The lot on Blaine Street is reserved for accessible parking. Additional lots are available at the corner of Linfield Avenue and Blaine Street, and a large lot off Keck Circle on the south side of campus (near Ford Hall and Vivian Bull Music Center). Golf cart shuttles will run from the Keck lot to the Commencement Green beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

What's not allowed on the Commencement Green

In the interest of all guests and graduates, no smoking, alcohol or pets (other than service animals) are allowed on the Commencement Green.

Interpreters

Spanish translation of the ceremony is available. If someone in your party would like to listen to the ceremony in Spanish, please stop by the audio tent to borrow a headset. If someone in your party needs American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, please contact us in advance.

Visiting the bookstore and Starbucks

Both the Linfield Bookstore and Starbucks, located in Riley Hall, will be open during Commencement weekend. 

Bookstore hours:

• Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Sunday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Starbucks hours:

• Sunday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
