Requesting Transcripts

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts can be ordered at any time through the National Student Clearinghouse. You can place as many orders as you like in one session using any major credit card. Your card will only be charged after your order has been completed by the registrar's office. Note: If your transcript needs to be sent internationally through Express Mail (expedited), please see the process below.

Order updates are available via mobile text message and will also be emailed to you. You can also check the status of your order at the National Student Clearinghouse using your email address and order number.

International Express Mail

If you are ordering a transcript that needs to be sent Internationally via expedited mail:

  1. Visit https://study.eshipglobal.com/ to create a prepaid shipping label; choose Linfield as the sending school. The shipping label will automatically be sent to Linfield University.
  2. Order your transcript through the National Student Clearinghouse. Under the Delivery Information category, choose "Express/International."
  3. Once Linfield has received your prepaid shipping label and your transcript order from the National Student Clearinghouse, the transcript will be processed and shipped.

Unofficial Transcripts

Current Linfield students may access unofficial transcripts by logging into Self-Service, going to "Academics", then clicking on "Unofficial Transcript."

Former students who need an unofficial transcript must complete a request form. You may submit your completed request by faxing it to 503-883-2663 or emailing a scanned copy to 1reg@linfield.edu. Unofficial transcript forms are also available in paper format at the registrar's office.

If you have questions about requesting your unofficial transcript, call the registrar's office at 503-883-2211.

The transcript process generally takes three to five days.

Notarized/Certified Copy of Transcript or Other Document

A notarized document is an official transcript, original diploma or quality copy of a diploma, produced and authenticated by the Office of the Registrar, then notarized. Requests are processed within two to four weeks. A request for a notarized transcript or diploma can be made by submitting a Transcript/Diploma Notarization Request Form. (Reordering of a diploma without need for notarization can be done using the Diploma Reprint Request Form)

Apostille or Authentication

In some situations, students may be required to provide an Apostille or Authentication along with the notarized transcript or diploma. Foreign Jurisdictions often require them before they will accept the notarized document. More information is available from the Oregon Secretary of State.

Please fill out the Transcript/Diploma Notarization Request Form and return to the Office of the Registrar. Indicate on the form which document(s) need to have the Apostille or Authentication attached. If there are any documents that need to be included with the Apostille, you would need to provide those documents as well.

If you do not have your original diploma, you may order a replacement diploma on the same form and include payment for the replacement diploma.

If you are requesting the Office of the Registrar to send your notarized document directly to the Oregon Secretary of State, the Authentication Application Form from the Oregon Secretary of State will need to be filled out. Include the application form, a self-addressed stamped envelope, and a $10 check made out to the State of Oregon with the Linfield Office of the Registrar order form.

The Office of the Registrar can help students both domestic and abroad with each unique Apostille/Authentication situation. For assistance, please call 503-883-2211.
