Transfer-friendly pathways
Finish strong at Linfield OCE. Whatever your academic background, Linfield strives to create a seamless transfer pathway. You can transfer up to 72 semester credits (equivalent to 108 quarter credits) of coursework completed at an institutionally accredited two- or four-year college, allowing you to expedite your education and save money.

Are Linfield’s online degrees accredited? Yes, Linfield’s programs offered online through Online and Continuing Education are authorized by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) Initiative.
If you plan to enroll in the Online RN to BSN program, our baccalaureate degree program in nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Additionally, our teaching certificate programs are approved by Oregon’s Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC), ensuring you receive the proper training to become a teacher in Oregon.

Will my diploma say I got my degree online? No, regardless of whether you complete your degree in person or online, your diploma will read “Linfield University.”

Do online courses cost more? No, online courses at Linfield do not cost more than traditional, on-campus courses. In fact, earning your degree online can save you thousands of dollars in tuition fees. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the estimated undergraduate tuition cost is $49,980. In contrast, the average annual tuition for OCE programs costs $18,540, along with additional online course fees.

Are online classes harder? While Linfield’s curricula deliver an immersive learning experience that challenges you, earning your certificate or degree online is not necessarily harder. The online coursework and practicums are comparable to on-campus programs, and you receive the same faculty support and mentorship.
However, it may require you to take a more intentional approach to your education. To stay on track to obtaining your degree or certificate, you must remain disciplined in managing your time, proactively reach out to your professors when you need additional support and complete your assignments.
