The success of Linfield students is the heart of Linfield's mission of connecting learning, life and community. Student success is the passion of the faculty and staff who choose to work at Linfield. One way (but not the only way) Linfield looks at that success is through the Linfield Student Achievement Measures. Linfield developed these measures in 2022 to comply with NWCCU's requirements (Linfield’s accreditor), but uses them to support mission fulfillment, evaluate institutional effectiveness and to work for all Linfield students and graduates to achieve their goals.
Linfield Student Achievement Measures (Disaggregated Data and Peer Comparisons)
RETENTION RATES (MOST RECENT 5 YEARS)
This retention rate is the proportion of students who return to enroll in a second fall semester out of all those who entered Linfield as first years (freshmen) in the previous fall. For example, if 100 students enter and 100 students return the next year, the retention rate is 100%.
| Entering Fall | Returned to Linfield for a Second Fall |
|---|---|
| 2024 | 86% returned in 2025 |
| 2023 | 80% returned in 2024 |
| 2022 | 79% returned in 2023 |
| 2021 | 81% returned in 2022 |
| 2020 | 81% returned in 2021 |
GRADUATION RATES (MOST RECENT 5 YEARS)
This graduation rate is the proportion of students who completed their bachelor's degrees within the specified time out of all those who entered Linfield as first-year students (freshman) in the year specified. For example, if 100 students enter and 80 students graduate within 4 years, 90 students graduate within 5 years, and 100 students graduate within 6 years, the graduation rates are 80%, 90%, and 100%, respectively. The time frame specified does not necessarily reflect continuous enrollment. For example, a student who entered in the fall of 2019 and graduated in 2024 (5 years) may have taken a semester or a year away from school during that time.
