Studying Health, Human Performance and Athletics at Linfield

Two students working with a student-athlete in an HHPA lab.

Health is fundamental to human life.

In the Department of Health, Human Performance and Athletics (HHPA) at Linfield, you will build on your natural interest in health and the body’s physical and mental processes through coursework, lab activities and collaborative research with expert faculty.

Our undergraduate programs include:

You will emerge from the program of choice ready for a career in strength and conditioning, personal training, physical education, health education, public health and coaching. You might consider pursuing a graduate program such as our new Master of Science in sports science and analytics. Other areas of graduate study to consider include athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant and medical school.

Gain clarity in mind and perspective outside your own sphere of influence.

We encourage you to broaden your Linfield experience beyond the coursework in HHPA. Taking advantage of classes offered in the business, psychology, education, and communication and theatre arts departments, will offer you vastly different perspectives and provide value in forming who you are here – and who you will become.

Whether you’re majoring or minoring in health, human performance and athletics studies or biology, anthropology, business or environmental studies, we’ll find you here in HHPA. And we can’t wait to meet you.
