LEAD Honors Program

Linfield University’s Leadership and Ethics Across Disciplines (LEAD) Honors Program seeks high-potential, civic-minded students who are eager to challenge themselves, discover their inner leader, and develop the skills and habits of mind to make a positive difference in the world. Here are some of the key features that set the LEAD Honors Program apart:

  • Financial commitment. We believe in investing in your success by granting a $5000 renewable scholarship in addition to other aid you might be receiving.
  • The LEAD Cohort. Be part of a team of 16 high-achieving and motivated students, under the expert mentorship of 2 faculty members, including a pre-orientation experience, monthly activities, and personalized advising.
  • An innovative curriculum. Ponder big questions, grapple with complex problems and ethical dilemmas, and push your comfort zone by taking an Honors Inquiry Seminar and completing a flexible LEAD minor that complements any major (or even double-major).
  • Real-world experiences and professional mentoring. Gain valuable experiences through on- and off-campus applied “practicums” (e.g. collaborative research, internships, study abroad) and participate in specialized workshops led by our career development team.
  • The LEAD portfolio. Throughout your time as a LEAD Scholar, you will be working as an archivist of your projects, learning, and experiences, which culminates in a portfolio designed to help you hit the ground running after graduation.
