Passwords
Passwords expire every 6 months (you will receive email reminders as your expiration is approaching). If you run into issues signing in and it has been a while since you changed your password, it is likely you need to reset it.
Password Requirements
- Minimum length: 8 characters
- Recommended length: 16 characters
- Maximum length: 24 characters
- Must contain:
- 1 upper case letter
- 1 lower case letter
- 1 number
- May contain special characters except the following:
; \ ? : @ & = < > - Cannot be a password you have used before.
Changing Your Password
- Open our identity portal (https://riportal.linfield.edu) in any browser.
- Login with your CatNet credentials.
- If your password has expired, you will immediately be prompted to set a new one. Otherwise, click your name in the upper right and choose Change Password.
- You will now be prompted to enter a new password in the first box, and to verify it in the second box.
- Click Next.
Forgot Your Password?
- Open our identity portal (https://riportal.linfield.edu) in any browser.
- Click on “Need Help”?
- Click on Forgot My Password.
- Enter your username/CatNet and then click Next.
- Answer your Challenge Questions* and then click Next. Your answers are not case sensitive.
- You will now be prompted to enter a new password in the first box, and to verify it in the second box.
- Click Next.
