Tell us more about your job. What do you do and what do you like about it?

As one of two owners – my responsibilities involve legal, regulatory, human resource, and insurance. (My partner handles finance, banking, and internal accounting) We both also regularly review operational issues with our general manager and senior team leaders. Each day brings a new challenge. As an owner, you learn that every problem has a solution, and a constructive, practical approach is the best course of action.

What are you engaged with outside of work? What should we know about you that is not on your LinkedIn profile?

My family now lives in the McMinnville area, and I commute to the winery in California. When I have spare time on visits to Mac, I volunteer time with Linfield’s track & field program.

How did Linfield help prepare you for your career?

I was not a good academic student at Linfield, and did I come to regret it. It was the greatest lesson I could have hoped to learn. It made me want to succeed, and to never accept second-best.

What is your most vivid Linfield memory?

Well, I use to drive the College’s pickup truck to and from a local dairy farm where I shoveled manure and brought it back for the flower beds around campus. Those beautiful flowers didn’t happen by accident! Linfield is a great community, and the people I came to call lifelong friends from my days as a student are a priceless reminder of how lucky I was and still am, to be a Wildcat.
