Amy has taught second and fifth grades in Spanish-English dual-language programs. She has expertise in generating and teaching lessons to build comprehension and linguistic awareness in bilingual classrooms and for emerging bilingual students. She is trained in sheltered instruction (SIOP) and guided language acquisition (GLAD). Amy will be supervising elementary student teachers pursuing their ESOL endorsement. She has a passion for advocating for ALL students, but especially those who experience disabilities or obstacles of any kind. She sees every student's value and worth and strives to create an environment that is equitable and inclusive for everyone. While not supervising or working in the classroom, Amy enjoys traveling, gardening, reading and many outdoor activities with friends and family.
