Darla Garcia First-Year and First-Generation Librarian

Nicholson Library
Darla’s work in librarianship puts an emphasis on services and programming for first-year and first-generation students, as well as on information literacy instruction, incorporating representation from varied perspectives and antiracist views. She is especially interested in diversity, equity and inclusion issues and social justice advocacy, and also how these factor into information accessibility and user experience in information seeking.
She wishes for all students to feel welcome and comfortable when using the Jereld R. Nicholson Library.
